Child Safety Policy

At GSL Soccer Stars the safety and well-being of every child in our care is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can learn and develop their football skills in a secure and supportive setting. To ensure the safety of all participants, we have implemented the following child safety policy:

  1. Child Protection Training: All staff, coaches, and volunteers undergo comprehensive child protection training to familiarize themselves with our child safety policies and procedures. This training includes recognizing signs of abuse, appropriate behavior around children, and reporting protocols.

  1. Screening and Background Checks: Prior to joining our team, all staff, coaches, and volunteers are required to undergo thorough background checks, including criminal record checks and reference checks. Individuals with any history of misconduct or inappropriate behavior will not be permitted to work with children.

  1. Code of Conduct: We enforce a strict code of conduct for all staff, coaches, and volunteers, outlining expected behavior and interactions with children. This includes guidelines for appropriate language, physical contact, and maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

  1. Supervision: Adequate supervision is provided at all times during training sessions, matches, and other activities. Coaches and staff members are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants and maintaining a safe environment free from hazards.

  1. Safe Environment: Our facilities undergo regular inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or risks. Equipment is checked for safety and maintained in good condition to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.

  1. Emergency Procedures: We have established clear procedures for responding to emergencies, including first aid protocols, evacuation plans, and communication strategies to notify parents or guardians in the event of an emergency situation.

  1. Communication: Open and transparent communication with parents or guardians is essential. We provide regular updates on program activities, schedules, and any relevant safety information. Parents are encouraged to raise any concerns or questions they may have regarding their child’s safety or well-being.

  1. Reporting and Response: We have a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse or neglect. Any suspicions or allegations of abuse are taken seriously and promptly reported to the appropriate authorities. We provide support to victims and their families and cooperate fully with investigations.

  1. Confidentiality: All information regarding child safety concerns is treated with the utmost confidentiality. Only individuals directly involved in the reporting and response process have access to this information, and it is handled in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  1. Review and Evaluation: Our child safety policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and evaluated to ensure they remain effective and up-to-date. Feedback from participants, parents, staff, and other stakeholders is welcomed and used to inform improvements to our practices.

By adhering to these child safety policies and procedures, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure environment where children can thrive, grow, and enjoy the sport of football to the fullest extent possible.
